Produced with the assistance of curator Brendan Smyth, this short doc captures the achievments of the Galway Computer and Telecommunications Museum in restoring and displaying some of the computer machines of days gone by. A selection of the Computer Games of the 70's and 80's is also on display.The clip is 10mins. in duration and is available to view on Vimeo or can be purchased by emailing Bannerboy or ger@gerconsidine.com

Fever Dream in Lighthouse Complex, Smithfield

The play 'Fever Dream - the Last Days of Edgar Allen Poe' is on in the Complex, Smithfield, starting Monday 25th and running till Saturday 30th Oct. Ger is reembracing the role of Dr. Joseph Moran which he played in the original 2009 production.

Deirdre's Passions' award

TheNotification received in the past week that the Bannerboy Productions short documentary was shortlisted in the category BEST DOCUMENTARY at the Corona Fastnet Short Film Festival 2010 in Skull, West Cork.

Directing Course in University of Limerick
The UL directing course 'The Right Direction' was an intensive but rewarding adventure.The course, coordinated by Antoinette Duffy, concentrated mostly on Movement and Physicality. As the week progressed each budding director got the opportunity to direct their own stage segment.

The Mad Hatters Ball was also an ocassion to be remembered !!

There was a good turnout both at the Galway City Library on Sat 10th and along the riverbank at the Born Centre on Sunday 11th. On Sat the the event was introduced by Pat - the Library manager and the complete event was recorded. We had extra contributions from Eamonn Shevlin of An Taibhdearc and Unity Doherty. Thankfully the weather obliged for Sundays outside event . Dr . Agnew repeated her very informative talk on Kavanagh's life and work. Howard Linnane read some of his favourites and Eamonn Shevlin sang 'Raglan Road' and 'If Ever You Go To Dublin Town' accompanied by Ide on fiddle. Ms Deirdre Manifold (Kavanagh's girlfriend for 5yrs in the early '50's) and family joined the gathering mid-way through and acknowledge the significance of the ocassion.

Patrick Kavanagh Literary Event in Galway
The Kavanagh Day is being staged in Galway again this year. The event is taking place indoors at the Galway City Library on Sat 10th July and outdoors on Sun 11th. July at the Born Centre, Newtownsmith. The guest speakers this year include Kavanagh expert Dr. Una Agnew and Ml. D. Higgins TD. Accompanying music is provided by Ide Ni Fhaolain on fiddle and Tony Small (ex Wilde Geese)on guitar. See the Kavanagh Day Poster. The second day of this years event runs outdoors on Sun.11th. The performances will take place at Abhainn na mBradan (the Born Quarter) which is truely a magnicificant building with breadthtaking views of the river Corrib and many historic buildings along the riverbank.
