There was a good turnout both at the Galway City Library on Sat 10th and along the riverbank at the Born Centre on Sunday 11th. On Sat the the event was introduced by Pat - the Library manager and the complete event was recorded. We had extra contributions from Eamonn Shevlin of An Taibhdearc and Unity Doherty. Thankfully the weather obliged for Sundays outside event . Dr . Agnew repeated her very informative talk on Kavanagh's life and work. Howard Linnane read some of his favourites and Eamonn Shevlin sang 'Raglan Road' and 'If Ever You Go To Dublin Town' accompanied by Ide on fiddle. Ms Deirdre Manifold (Kavanagh's girlfriend for 5yrs in the early '50's) and family joined the gathering mid-way through and acknowledge the significance of the ocassion.
